Let's Go Fishing

Back in ancient Chinese times, sometime between the 4th and 6th century BC, Lao Tzu was the founder of Taoism, the mystical 'way' or 'path' that many have followed since, and with him came the many sayings for which he is renowned.
One of the best known is the quote, "Give a man a fish; feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish; feed him for a lifetime".
That quote is one of the best analogies for the difference between Liberal/Progressives and Conservatives today.
Take any person who is "down and out", for any reason and what does the the Liberal/Progressive want to do? They want to give him some kind of handout (a fish), so he won't be "down and out" anymore, but what happens when the "handout" runs out? They give him another one (fish) and on it goes. Where does the handout (all the fish) come from? It comes from people who have picked themselves up, gone to work, and made themselves successful (taught themselves or been taught to fish). The Conservative wants that "down and out" person to be given the chance to pick himself up, go to work, and make themselves successful (teach themselves or be taught how to fish). By doing this, that person becomes self sufficient, and does not take anything away from the economy (large pool of fish) and actually adds to it (more fish)and creates more wealth for the entire population.
Why then do the Liberal/Progressives act the way they do? Can't they see what teaching a man to fish can do for him? Of course they can, but by doing that they are no longer needed to give him fish, he can get his own, so they lose their control over him. As long as they have the ability to determine whether he eats or not, they control him. If there is one thing that Liberal/Progressives want it is control. It is their sole reason for existence. For decades they have kept minorities down and under their control by using this exact method. Conservatives want the best for everyone, and will do whatever they can to help people become successful on their own, so they no longer need to take from others, who through hard work have built their own successful lives, because they have become successful themselves.
