The Bill of Rights?? Pat me down??Baaaa! Baaaa!

Shortly after the U. S. Constitution was ratified, some of the Founding Fathers thought that it did not convey enough rights to the "people" as individuals, so they developed and ratified the first Ten amendments which became known as the "Bill of Rights". Over the years, especially in the last 100 years or so, there have been major assaults on them. We have seen all sorts of "gun control" laws passed (for our protection, of course), in violation of the Second Amendment, the tenth Amendment has been dead for quite awhile (see "Obamacare" as the latest example), and I'm not sure the ninth amendment was ever adhered to. The first amendment is in the process of being trashed by the ACLU's attacks on the Christian religion, the attempts by Congress to control Freedom of Speech through the "McCain-Feingold Bill" and the now apparently dead (Thank God) "Disclose Act", the Freedom to Assemble is under attack by all the bashing and demonizing of people participating in the Tea Party demonstrations. Tell me how many participants of the 10/2 "One Nation Working Together" Socialist rally or the Stephen Colbert/John Stewart left wing rally a few weeks later were demonized? That's OK, I'll wait while you do an Internet search to find someone who was. No luck? I didn't think you'd find anyone!
Now the Fourth Amendment is under attack in our nation's airports. The Fourth Amendment reads "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause.........................."
The nun in her 80's, the screaming 3 year old, or the woman in the wheelchair who "opted out" of the full body scans, because they basically show you nude, and may emit dangerous radiation to the "scanner" and the "scannee", were "patted down" under the new rules from Homeland Security. The new "pat downs" involve touching of the breasts on women and touching of the genitals of both sexes. Did the TSA have some kind of probable cause that these three people were planning on bombing the flights they were going to board? I don't think so. I have heard that the Dept. of Homeland Security is considering the possibility of granting exemptions, on religious grounds, to Muslim women wearing Muslim clothing. Weren't all the terrorist attacks against this country committed by Muslims? Yeh, that's what I thought, too.
Pilots are also required to go through the scans also. Why! When they get in the cockpit and get airborne, they can fly the plane right into a building. They don't need explosives or weapons. Talk about idiotic, but then we are dealing with the government.
None of the attempted bombings in the past few years originated on domestic flights in this country. They all originated on flights coming from foreign nations. If Homeland Security and our intelligence agencies were doing their jobs they would be looking at people who may have paid cash for a one way ticket or is a middle eastern appearing young male. My God, Jon, are you advocating "profiling"? You betcha! 3 year olds, nuns, and people in wheelchairs are not terrorists! Young middle eastern type males are!
There is an apparent effort to get anyone flying over the Thanksgiving holiday to opt out of the body scan and force the "pat downs" resulting in a major slowdown at the nation's airports, delayed flights, etc. Works for me, it's called civil disobedience. To those of you on the left, remember the 60's and 70's. Political correctness is totally out of control and if we continue to go along with crap, then I guess we have become a nation of sheep. Baaaaaaa!

I had the pleasure <-----dripping with sarcasm) of being 'patted' down on my recent trip to St. Louis. They had just started using the full body scanners at Bradley, and I refused. If I weren't traveling on business and required to do so for my job, I would have told them to kiss my a$$ and come home. It was done in front of hundreds of people, I was NOT offered a private area as they claim they do, and it was QUITE intrusive! Maybe I will dress as a Muslim next time, and I won't have any problems!! LOL
