All You Need to Know About This Clown!




     The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are two of the greatest organizations in the country. They teach young men and women to be honest, moral, loyal, courteous, thrifty, reverent, obedient, etc. Characteristics that are sorely missing in a good part of our society and particularly amongst politicians. Obama had a chance to speak to these characteristics at the Boy Scout Jamboree, instead he chose to go on "The View" and spout his Socialist agenda. What a poor excuse for a President. Maybe some day he'll stop acting like one and really become one. He was elected in November of 2008. Do you think maybe it's time to stop campaigning?

You Cut

        I recently ran across a great website called "YOUCUT". The link is below. If you check out the site, you will find that Connecticut's entire Congressional delegation (Rosa DeLauro, John Larson, Jim Himes, Joe Courtney, and Chris Murphy) voted to continue using your tax dollars to sudsidize long distance travelers who chose Sleeper class tickets on Amtrak train service. Passengers in long-distance first class travel are provided a sleeping room, many with a private toilet and shower, turn-down service, and complimentary entertainment and pre-paid food. If this isn't a classic example of government waste, somebody point it out to me.
        Check out the site and sign up for updates and when you get outraged enough, call your Congressman's office and complain. Loud and clear! I'm calling Murphy's office tomorrow.

For What it's Worth

         We have a primary election coming on August 10 in Connecticut for both Republican and Democrat State and Federal offices. Below is a list of whom I am endorsing for those various offices. If you have followed my blog at all, you will know that I am not endorsing any Democrat candidates, because if you vote to elect them and they get elected, then I hope you wanted what you will get - Higher taxes, more regulations, more government spending, and fewer freedoms - basically your usual Liberal B.S. central planning from Hartford or Washington, D.C.
          On the Republican, I mean Conservative, side, (I have no use for RINO's {Republicans in name only]), "Quint-Essential Conservative Ramblings" is endorsing the following:

It will determine if we want the limited government envisioned by our Founding Fathers or a tyrannical, central planning Government run from Washington, D.C. and Hartford, CT.

Was it Joe?

      I was sitting in my recliner last night watching "Special Report" with Bret Baier on Fox News. Steve Hayes, who writes for the "Weekly Standard" magazine was on the panel. The discussion was about the oil well in the Gulf of Mexico finally being capped. The interesting part was that Steve mentioned that the idea for the cap came from an anonymous plumber who, sent the idea, in a sketch,  to an Engineer, at a California University, who was working on the problem.
       Think about that! We have government and BP scientists and engineers (you know the "experts") working on this for close to ninety days and they came up with nothing. If this isn't a classic example of American exceptionalism, spirit, and ingenuity, as compared to the Government, I don't know what is. The government didn't have a clue on how to fix this, but they want to run our lives.
      I wonder if it was "Joe the plumber"

Job Creation

From all the campaign ads on TV, I guess we have an election coming. I hear all the candidates talk about how they are going to create jobs. Well, let's get something straight, once and for all, GOVERNMENT DOES NOT, I REPEAT, DOES NOT CREATE PRIVATE SECTOR jobs. The only jobs that government's create are government jobs, and those jobs are a drain on the overall economy because they take money and capital away from the private sector. If you are not a "lefty" and really want the economy to improve for all, then you don't vote for the candidate who says he or she is going to create jobs, you vote for the candidate who says they are going to create the "conditions" that will create jobs. That means lower taxes, less government regulations, and fewer government mandates on private businesses.

You Can't MakeThis Stuff Up # ?? - I Don't Know, I Have Totally Lost Count.

We have an Administration in Washington, D.C. that passes legislation, constantly, in violation of the United States Constitution and don't care diddly-squat about it, and now they are filing suit against Arizona's new illegal immigrantion law. Why are they doing this? Because they say it is "Unconstitutional". My neck is beginning to really hurt from all the head shaking I've been doing since Obama was elected.

January, 2013

      One sunny day in January, 2013 an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Obama." The Marine looked at the man and said, "Sir, Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here." The old man said, "Okay", and walked away.
       The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Obama." The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here." The man thanked him and, again, just walked away.            
       The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same U.S. Marine, saying "I would like to go in and meet with President Obama." The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Obama. I've told you already that Mr. Obama is no longer the president and no longer resides here.  Don't you understand?" The old man looked at the Marine and said, "Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it."  
          The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow, Sir."

Would you do it?

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

      It was 234 years ago. The American Revolution was a little over a year old. The first shot ("the shot heard round the world") had been fired on April 19, 1775 at the bridge at Lexington-Concord in Massachusetts, after Paul Revere's famous "midnight ride" to warn the minutemen that the British were coming. The colonists would subsequently suffer several defeats including the battle of Bunker Hill (One of the bloodiest battles of the war).
      It's July 4, 1776, 56 men are gathered in a room in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. What came out of that room was something that will always attest to mankind's yearning to be free of tyranny. All 56 of them signed the Declaration of Independence (one of the greatest documents in human history), and the United States of America was born. The following link explains what happened to those men in the years that followed. While there are some questions about some of the minor details, the story is true.


       How many of the people in this country today, including the ones who complain about how bad things are right now, would even contemplate doing something similar to what those giants among men did? Not many, unfortunately, but you can count me as one who would! Most people today don't have a clue as to what real hardship is.

The Declaration ended with this statement:

"And for the support of this Declaration with a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor."

And they did!!


      As a gentleman by the name of Patrick Henry declared at the end of a fiery speech on March 23, 1775, at a meeting of Virginia's delegates to the First Continental Congress -

"It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace-- but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!"
