Got this from my Buddy, Dave. A great tribute to America's finest!

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Memorial Day - Remember What it Means!
I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
and then he stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.
I heard the sound of TAPS one night,
When everything was still
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That TAPS had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin
Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,

As the flowers rest on the decorated graves and the sunlight shines on the beautiful sailboats, Uncle Sam whispers in my ear about how we should care for the soldiers and remember the ones that have died. Swimming pools open, BBQs fry. Today is the day to think of what they have done for us. There are blurs of red, white and blue marching down the street and flags are lowered at half-mast. But we should always remember and never forget what set us free, from this very day on.

File Under: "You Can't Make This Stuff Up"
The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is starting to come ashore in some of the Louisiana marshes. It will turn out to be the worst environmental disaster to ever occur in this country. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is desperately trying to get Federal permission to build sand bridges or berms offshore to keep the oil out of the marshes. The permits are being held up because the agency has to study whether the berms will harm the environment. He has yet to get the permission because the government agency responsible for granting the permit is:
Want to take a guess?
Yep, it's the Environmental Protection Agency.

Remember When the Lone Ranger Would Shoot the Gun Out of the Bad Guy's Hand?
Got this little tidbit from RadioVice Online Blog.
This is how the left operates. I'm sure this is designed to protect those poor minorities who have been put in the position they're in by the leftist policies that have been holding them down for the last 60 years under the guise of "don't worry, we'll take care of you".
New York legislators suggest police shoot criminals in arms or legs only
Unbelievable. Brooklyn Assembly members Annette Robinson (D-Bedford Stuyvesant) and Darryl Towns (D-East New York), have put forth legislation that would require police officers – when a life is threatened – to shoot for arms or legs instead of center of mass. They mistakenly have replaced reality with a Hollywood movie. Why not just demand they shoot the gun out of the hands of the attacker?
The legislation will probably go nowhere, but this is the type of crap lawmaking that would ensure criminals are protected through rules of engagement intimidation. The bad guys – similar to terrorists, Taliban and al-Qaida overseas – need not worry about rules of engagement, but if this law passes, law enforcement in the state of New York will know they could be charged with manslaughter if their shot placement is not “just right” or if they fire one too many rounds.
Law enforcement officers are trained to shoot until the threat is stopped, not to shoot to kill. As it turns out, becoming involved in a two-way shooting gallery is a stressful situation – who would have known? With that stress in mind, law enforcement and civilians trained in self defense are taught to shoot for center mass, the largest part of the body that can be hit effectively and stop the threat. In other words, it’s damn hard to hit a target under stress, so to make it easier to engage and stop the threat, take the easiest shot – center mass.
When a firearm is drawn to stop a threat, three factors come into play before and during the trigger pull. First, a conscience decision to fire and stop the threat has been made. Second, the threat (target) must be available. And third, it must be safe to engage the target. Every round must be accounted for, so why add the additional burden of aiming for an arm or leg during the legal use of lethal force?
Using a firearm to shoot anyone – anywhere on their body – is lethal force.
But in the world of Hollywood movies and the minds of Robinson and Towns, there is some sort of racist component to pulling the trigger of a firearm.

Why?
I did some yard work this morning, came in the house, had some lunch, took a shower, and sat down to watch some TV. Did some channel surfing, ran across the Yankee game and watched it from the seventh inning on. They won. Went back to channel surfing and ran across the movie "Apollo 13". It was about two-thirds over, but I figured I'd watch the end of it. It was about the moon mission, in April of 1970, that had an explosion on board on the way to the moon and barely made it safely back to Earth. The entire world was holding their breath. Tom Hanks as Jim Lovell, Kevin Bacon as Jack Swigert, and Bill Paxton as Fred Haise. It's a riveting movie even if you know the outcome, because it is based on a true story. The glory days of the United States space program. The Mercury program, with our first man into space (it wasn't John Glenn, it was Alan Shepherd). The Gemini program, with two men in space in the same capsule, practicing docking with other space craft, and space walks, then the Apollo Program. Man going to the moon!! The incredible Apollo 8 Christmas Eve flyby of the moon, with Frank Borman reading from the Genesis chapter of the Bible, while us earth folks back down here were seeing live pictures of the moon from the Apollo capsule. Finally, Apollo 11, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins going to the moon. The whole world was watching. Finally, the phrase, 'That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind". Neil Armstrong was standing on the moon. The U.S. and the human race had done it, as had explorers going all the way back to the first caveman who wondered what was over the next hill. It is human nature to explore and venture into the unknown, think of the Vikings, Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus, Ponce DeLeon, Magellan, Pizzaro, Hudson, Captain Cook, Sir Francis Drake, Coronado, Champlain, Cartier, Marquette, Joliet, Lewis and Clark, Daniel Boone, Jim Bridger, Amundsen, Scott, Perry,............................ The list goes on and on and will continue, as we go forward in our "history". BUT, is the United States going to be part of it? Not with the current administration in Washington. We spent billions of dollars helping to build the International Space Station, and after the present Shuttle Atlantis which is in orbit as I write this, there are only two shuttle flights left before the program ends. After that, we have no way of getting U.S. astronauts into space, unless we hitch a ride with the Russians or in the very near future, the Chinese, or maybe the Iranians. President Obama has canceled the manned space program, including the new "Constellation" rocket which has been under development, and we've already spent billions on it.. I guess this is his way of "changing" America. He is taking us from the world leader in space exploration to a country of has beens. He says it's too expensive. This from a guy who has no problem running up a $1.5 trillion deficit, but can't come up with $15-20 billion to maintain the U. S. Manned Space program. If it wasn't so serious, I'd be laughing out load. This guy is a joke with a capital "J". Shame on him. I had hoped to live long enough to see Americans on Mars. Guess that isn't going to happen now.

Remember!
Lexington-Concord, Bunker Hill, the Alamo, Fort Sumter, Gettysburg, Antietam, Bull Run, San Juan Hill, Belleau Wood, Pearl Harbor, Omaha Beach, Battle of the Bulge, Iwo Jima, Chosin Reservoir, Inchon, Ia Drang Valley, Khe Sanh, Tet, Anbar Province, Fallujah, Marjah.
Does anyone recognize any of these names and places? I know some do, but, if you don't, go up on the Internet, do a "Search" and learn about them, and the sacrifices that were made at those locations.
Memorial day is coming. Instead of thinking about the beach, having a cookout, going fishing, going to any Memorial day sale. Think about taking some time out of your busy day and go to a Memorial day parade and help honor those who gave their all, or at least take a few moments of silence, and give thanks to the hundreds of thousands of young men and women who, since the battle at the Lexington-Concord, Massachusetts bridge on April 19, 1775, and the "shot heard round the world", gave their lives at those locations, so you can be free.
One of my biggest regrets in life is the fact that I have never worn the uniform of one of our military services. If I could do it it over, you can be sure I would not be making that mistake again.
Celebrate Memorial Day, but remember what it means. Stand up for your freedoms - Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness and remember that those are guaranteed to you by your creator, not by the Government. Don't let the sacrifices of all those brave young men and women have been in vain. Remember "Freedom isn't Free", occasionally you have to fight to preserve it. As Thomas Jefferson said "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants".

These are only clips from movies. I can't even begin to imagine the horror of what the "real thing" must have been like, and don't forget, a large number of these guys weren't even 20 years old yet, and yet they did it for themselves, and you, because they believed in our great country, and wanted to preserve our freedoms. Don't let anybody destroy this country

Three Cheers for Obama!
BEFORE YOU THINK I'VE FLIPPED MY LID, READ THE ENTIRE COLUMN!
That is right - I will say it. . . . . THANK GOD FOR OBAMA!
He destroyed the Clinton Political Machine - Driving a stake thru the
Heart of Hillary's Presidential aspirations--something no Republican was
ever able to do. Remember when a Hillary Presidency scared the daylights
out of you!
He killed off the Kennedy Dynasty - No more Kennedy's trolling
looking for booze and women wanting rides home. American women and freedom
are safer tonight!
He is destroying the Democratic Party before our eyes!
Dennis Moore had never lost a race - quit
Evan Bayh had never lost a race - quit
Byron Dorgan - had never lost a race - quit
Harry Reid - bid for re-election - doesn't look good
These are just a handful of Democrats whose political careers Obama has destroyed! Hooray! By the end of 2010 dozens more will be out! In December of 2008, the Democrats were on the rise. In the last two election cycles they had picked up 14 senate seats and 52 house seats. The press was touting the death of the Conservative Movement, and the Republican Party for good. In one year, Obama put a stop to all of this and will probably give the house, if not the senate right back to the Republicans. He has completely exposed liberals and progressives for what they are. Every generation seems to need to relearn the lesson on why they should never actually put liberals in charge. He is bringing home the lesson very well!
Liberals tax, borrow and spend - check
Liberals won't bring themselves to protect
Liberals want to take over the economy - check
Liberals think they know what is best for everyone - check
Liberals aren't happy till they are running YOUR life - check
He has brought more Americans back to conservatism than anyone since Reagan. In one year, he rejuvenated the Conservative Movement and brought out to the streets millions of Freedom Loving Americans. Name me one other time in your life that you saw your friends and neighbors this interested in taking back
strangers proved to me that my lack of confidence of the greatness and wisdom of the American people was flat-out wrong.
When the American People wake up, no smooth talking teleprompter reader
can fool them! Obama woke up these Great Americans
Again, I want say, Thank you, Obama!
So, Lets Recap "2009".........what a year! WOW!!!
1. The American people inaugurate a half-Muslim president with a total of
142 days experience as a US Senator from the most politically corrupt
State (city) in America whose governors have been ousted from office. The
President's first official act is to order the closing of Gitmo and make sure
terrorist civil rights are not violated. (Honest mistake?)
2. The
Holder, whose law firm we later find out represents seventeen Gitmo
Terrorists. (An honest mistake?)
3. The CIA Boss appointee, Leon Panetta, has absolutely no experience, has
a daughter, Linda, we find out, who is a true radical anti-American
activist, and a supporter of all the Anti-American regimes in the western
hemisphere. (There were socio-economic factors involved!)
4. We got the second most corrupt American woman (Pelosi is #1) as
Secretary of State; bought and paid for. (You can put lipstick on a pig,
but it still stinks!)
5. We got a Tax cheat for Treasury Secretary, who did not properly file his
own taxes for 12 years. (He "misspoke"!)
6. A Commerce Secretary nominee who withdrew due to corruption charges.
(Another honest mistake???)
7. A Tax cheat nominee for Chief Performance Officer who withdrew under
charges. (Hmmm... Another screw-up?)
8. A Labor Secretary nominee who withdrew under charges of unethical
conduct. (OK, maybe this person was just plain stupid.)
9. A Secretary HHS nominee (Daschle) who withdrew under charges of
cheating on his taxes. (I'm running out of excuses for these idiots!!)
10 Multiple appointments of former lobbyists after an absolute campaign
statement that no lobbyists would be appointed.
(Dear God, I am getting a headache!)
All this occurred just during the first three weeks. . . But who's
counting?
spending bill where the government gives you a smidgen of your tax dollars ($13 per week), making you feel so good about yourself [stimulated], that you want to run out to Wal-Mart and buy a new Chinese-made HDTV!
Only with the Liberals...
Pray for our country.
Don't you just love hypocrites?
Obama went to the International Olympic Committee to have them choose
Obama went to
Obama went to
Obama went to
Obama went to
Speaking of praying, Obama has now been president for a full year and yet he & wife (first lady) Michelle, the Christian family they claim to be, have not attended church since the inauguration. Obama is the 1st president in history who did not attend any Christmas religious observance. He must miss Reverend Wright! And finally, he is the 1st president to remain on vacation after a terrorist attack.
In these times, 'I'll keep my God, my freedom, my guns, and my money. Anyone that supports this insanity can keep "THE CHANGE".
AMEN!!!!
