Senator Chris Dodd, (D) Connecticut

This clown is absolutely amazing. Last fall, when the original AIG bailout legislation was being written, Senator Dodd had language included in the bill that would allow contractual bonuses to AIG Executives to be paid when they came due. Now that the "s... has hit the fan" regarding these bonuses, he is proposing a 98% tax on those bonuses. As I have said before, "you can't make this stuff up". Do you suppose his original intent to allow the bonuses to be paid had anything to do with the $103,000 he got in campaign contributions from AIG? This is a classic example of what happens when the government gets involved in the private sector.

P.S. We're still waiting to see the papers for the mortgage he got from Countrywide Mortgage, another major contributor to his campaign.
