Who Am I?

I was born in one country, raised in another. My father was born in another country. I was not his only child. He fathered several children with numerous women. I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest in me. My mother died at an early age from cancer. Later in life, questions arose over my real name. My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to produce a legitimate, reliable birth certificate.
I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity, as it was widely accepted in my country, but I practiced nontraditional beliefs and didn't follow Christianity, except in the public eye under scrutiny. I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult, disguising myself as someone who really cared about them..
That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and I embarked on a new career. I wrote a book about my struggles growing up. It was clear to those who read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.
I became active in local politics in my 30's then with help behind the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office in my 40s. They said I had a golden tongue and could talk anyone into anything. That reinforced my conceit.
I had a virtually nonexistent resume, little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization. Yet I was a powerful speaker and citizens were drawn to me as though I were a magnet and they were small roofing tacks.
I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances. This bolstered my ego.
At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign policy. I was very critical of my country in the last war and seized every opportunity to bash my country. But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on the country's economy. I pretended to have a really good plan on how we could do better and every poor person would be fed and housed for free.
I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess. It was the free market, banks and corporations. I decided to start making citizens hate them and if they were envious of others who did well, the plan was clinched tight.
I called mine "A People's Campaign" and that sounded good to all people.
I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the traditional path of politics and was able to gain widespread popular support.
I knew that, if I merely offered the people 'hope', together we could change our country and the world.
So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on behalf of the downtrodden, poor, ignorant to include "persecuted minorities" like the Jews. My true views were not widely known and I needed to keep them unknown, until after I became my nation's leader.
I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily found out what I really believed, if they had simply read my writings and examined those people I associated with.
I'm glad they didn't. Then I became the most powerful man in the world. And the world learned the truth.

I've Been Telling You. Are You Listening or Do You Have Your Head in the Sand?

   Since I started this blog, I have been warning about what we will get with a Democrat takeover of Congress, and the Presidency. These people are Liberals, Progressives, Statists, Marxists, or Communists. You chose whatever term you want. They are concerned with one thing and one thing only. Total government control of the people. Your freedoms are headed out the window at the speed of light. Government run health care is one of the first steps. Later this year, parts of it kick in, including coverage for kids up to age 26, on their parents policy, requiring insurance companies to cover kids with pre-existing conditions, banning life time or yearly limits on coverage. Hey, those are great aren't they?? Yeh, they are, if there were no consequences, but there are. Insurance companies normally renew their policies in January. With all those mandates on them, they will have to raise premiums to cover the costs of those new mandates, and then the President, the Congress, the State run media (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, NPR, MSNBC, etc.) will start screaming about those "evil" insurance companies raising their premiums. See how insidious this is. They front load the good stuff so it takes effect almost immediately, they get a pat on the back from the people, who join them in bashing the insurance companies, use this to get themselves re-elected, and the bad stuff is put off until about 2014. The bad stuff? The mandates that if you are not covered at work you are required to buy your own policy or face a fine, or jail, the hiring of 16,000 new IRS agents to monitor on a monthly basis whether you have coverage, the government will have access to your financial information so they can withdraw fines, etc. if you don't pay them. The bill mandates that the Health and Human Services Secretary shall make sure that costs do not exceed deficit neutrality. If it does, health care costs will have to be cut to comply with this mandate. How will this be accomplished? The only way it can. Rationing of health care and end of life counseling for the elderly. Death Panels.
      This is the kind of stuff this crowd is pushing. They have now taken over your medical care, some auto companies, some banks, the student loan program. You didn't know that was in the Health care bill? Taking that over will give them control over education curriculum (I don't think they will include learning about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights). Your medical treatment is no longer between you and your doctor. It is between you and the government, which will tell your doctor when and how to treat you. Still on the horizon is Cap and Trade, which will cause massive tax increases in energy costs and government control of energy companies, Immigration reform which will result in amnesty for illegal immigrants already here and will give the Democrats about 12 million new supporters. How are they going to pay for all this? There is talk about taking the money in people's IRA's, 401K's, and SEP accounts and making them government programs and the Deficit Study group Obama set up will probably come back and say we need a VAT tax. A National Sales tax on top of the income and all the other taxes we already pay.
      Some followers of my blog have commented on various posts that I am paranoid. Well, just remember the saying "just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you". I like to consider myself a student of history. I've enjoyed it ever since elementary school. What is going on now in this country is exactly what went on in Russia after the Bolshevik revolution in 1917, in Germany with the rise of the Nazi party during the 1930's, and what is going on today in Venezuela under Hugo Chavez. The people in those countries thought that the government was doing the right thing and supported it. As has always been said, "those that don't pay attention to history, are deemed to repeat it." Probably Wasn't a Good Thing to Do

Well, the Health Care "Abortion" has passed. OK, we lost the battle, but the war is just beginning. Uncle Barack is going to sign it at 11.15 tomorrow in the White House Rose Garden. Right after the signing, at least eleven State Attorneys General are filing a law suit in Federal Court against the bill on Constitutional grounds (Tenth Amendment and mandates on American citizens). From what I have heard, they stand a good chance of winning. The case will wind it's way through the courts, until it probably eventually winds up before the United States Supreme Court. Now, does everyone remember when Uncle Barack dissed the Supreme Court Justices in front of the world, during his State of the Union address, regarding their decision on Corporations and Unions running political ads during campaigns. Even Supreme Court Justices have feelings. Hmmmmmmm? Payback's a B****.

Environmental Math

I just read a story about a New Jersey nuclear power plant that is threatening to shut down unless NJ's DEP drops a demand that it build new cooling towers that don't take water from Barnegut Bay because of it's killing of marine life. Below is a quote from the article.

Quote - "But an even more immediate impact is seen at the plant itself, where vast amounts of marine life including fish and crab eggs, larvae and small animals are killed by getting sucked into the plant, or trapped against screening gates. The environmental group "Save Barnegut Bay" estimates the plant kills nearly 3 percent of the bay's marine life each day — an assertion Exelon disputes."  

The way I figure it, the bay will be totally lifeless in 34 days. Wait, the plant is 40 years old and if it is killing 3% of the wildlife everyday, that bay has already been lifeless for 39+ years, so what's the big deal, there's nothing left to kill.  It's obvious that the "Save Barnegut Bay" people did not do good in math when they were in school. Probably went to public schools

We Know What the Health Care Bill Will do to Taxes, Here's What it Will do the Constitution. Stlll Like It??

Well, I have done it!  I have read the entire text of proposed Health Care Bill : The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law.  I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected. To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.  The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals.  Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government. However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead, it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated  If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed. The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives of the American people, and the businesses they own. The irony is that the Congress doesn't have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with! I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate health care. This legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama administration, to all of your personal healthcare information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital, in direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution,  which protects against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide...  if you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. However, that doesn't work because since there is nothing in the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without the due process of law. So, there are three of those pesky amendments, that the far left hate so much, out of the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively nullified by this law  It doesn't stop there though. The 9th Amendment that provides: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people; The 10th Amendment states: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.   I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights... Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to "be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution." If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation.  If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.   For those who might doubt the nature of this threat, I suggest they consult the source, the US Constitution, and Bill of Rights. There you can see exactly what we are about to have taken from us.

I Have a Question

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama's proposal to overhaul education standards championed by his predecessor aims to broaden the focus beyond math and reading to "a well-rounded education," Education Secretary Arne Duncan says.
Reading and math are important, but so are social studies, science, the arts and recess, Duncan said Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America."
"We're looking to make some pretty dramatic changes here," Duncan said.
The proposal would overhaul the Bush administration's "No Child Left Behind" program. Rather than focusing on grade-level proficiency as the current law does, it would seek to ensure students are ready for college or a job. Duncan said it also would give educators more flexibility.
Duncan said the administration hopes Congress will pass the measure this year.

My question is: What about American History, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and Civics?
My opinion?

The Health Care Reform Bill: Welcome To The Biggest Tax Increase In U.S. History – www.theeconomiccollapseblog.com

Will the health care reform bill that the Democrats are trying to figure out a way to ram through Congress end up being the biggest tax increase in U.S. history? Unfortunately, a close reading of the bill leads to the inescapable conclusion that it will be. You see, the crafters of this legislation were smart. They realized that if they included one huge tax increase in the health care bill it would make headlines all over the country, so they chopped up the taxes into a bunch of smaller pieces in order to make them easier to swallow. In fact, one review of the Senate version of the health care bill identified at least 19 tax increases. When you put all of the tax increases together they add up to the biggest tax increase in the history of the United States. Considering the fact that the U.S. economy is already on the verge of economic collapse, the last thing that the American people need is a massive tax increase. But that is exactly what they are about to get.
 
So let's take a closer look at some of these taxes....
 
*In Section 5000(A) of the Senate version of the bill (which can be found here), >(click on the link above to see this) there is a requirement for all Americans to purchase health insurance. Those who do not obtain health coverage will be hit with an annual tax penalty of $750.
 
*Barack Obama is trying to sneak a large Medicare tax increase for wealthy Americans into the final version of the health care bill. Under Obama's proposal, individuals who earn more than $200,000 and couples who earn over $250,000 would pay an additional 2.9% surtax on unearned income from interest, dividends, annuities, royalties and rents. Up until now, employers and employees have each contributed 1.45% of each paycheck to Medicare, but if Obama's proposal makes it into the final bill, wealthy Americans will see their Medicare taxes absolutely skyrocket.
 
*In Section 9008 of the Senate version of the health care bill, a $2.3 billion excise tax would be imposed on the pharmaceutical industry. This tax would not be based on income. It would solely be based on market share. So even if a company was losing hundreds of millions of dollars it would still have to pay.
 
*Section 9009 of the Senate version of the health care bill imposes an "annual fee" on medical device manufacturers and importers. Once again, this $2 billion "excise tax" would be based on market share and not on income.
 
*Section 9010 of the Senate version of the health care bill would also impose an "annual fee" on health insurance providers. This $6.7 billion tax would also be allocated based on market share.
 
So how much of these new taxes on health insurance companies, drugmakers and medical device manufacturers do you think will be passed on to consumers?
 
Anyone want to take a guess?
 
Just because a particular tax increase is not directed at you does not mean that it won't take money out of your pocket.
 
Let's look at some more (yes, there are more) of the tax increases....
 
*Section 9001 of the Senate version of the health care bill contains an excise tax on "Cadillac" health plans. In other words, if you have provided your family with the very best in health coverage you get to be taxed extra. This tax is particularly harsh. Section 9001 imposes a 40 percent tax on the portion of insurance premiums exceeding $8,500 a year for individuals and $23,000 a year for family plans. In order to hide the tax, it will be imposed on the health insurance companies who issue the policies. But do you think that they will not pass that cost on to their customers?
 
So now the American people will be highly penalized for getting really good health care plans.
 
*Section 9017 of the Senate version of the health care bill imposes an excise tax on elective cosmetic medical procedures. Any voluntary cosmetic procedures will now be subjected to a 5 percent tax. All of those boob jobs are about to get a lot more expensive.
 
*The House version of the health care bill would impose a 5.4 percent income tax increase on individuals making more than $500,000 and on couples making more than $1 million.
 
So if you are living the American Dream you are about to pay a lot more for it if the House version of the health care bill gets adopted.
 
Let's break this down a little bit.
 
Currently, the top income tax rate in the United States is 35 percent.
 
If existing Bush tax cuts expire in 2011 as Barack Obama wants them to, the top tax rate will go back up to 39.6 percent.
 
But this new "health care tax" would jack things up even higher.
 
Another 5.4 percent would take the highest tax rate in America to 45 percent. That is before any state, local or property taxes are even paid.
 
Pretty soon it won't even be worth it to work hard in America anymore.
 
But that is not the end of the tax increases.
 
A Price Waterhouse Coopers’ analysis for America’s Health Insurance Plans found that family health insurance premiums would be approximately $4,000 a year higher if the health care reform bill is passed.
 
Can you afford to pay over $300 a month more for health insurance for your family?
 
Are you starting to get the idea?
 
This health care reform bill will be an absolute financial disaster for America. But considering the fact that the Senate version of the bill is 2409 pages long, hardly anyone will ever take the time to read the whole thing.
 
And yes, the Democrats are likely to tweak things a little more as they try to figure out how to sneak a final version through, but there is now one thing that seems virtually certain.
 
This is going to be the biggest tax increase in U.S. history.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was quoted as saying today "we need to pass this health care legislation so we can find out what's in it " Are you kidding me? You people out there who are in favor of this legislation are going to get exactly what you deserve if this thing passes. Your taxes will go up, your health care costs will go up, your health care will be rationed, and for people my age, and you know who you are, will not get much access to health care except for end of life counseling by government run "death panels".  This legislation will be the biggest disaster to ever happen to this country. Come back in about 5 years and prove to me that I am wrong, if I'm still around and haven't been death panelled away. See you on the other side.

When I started in office, I had to close a $2.3 billion shortfall in the $29 billion annual budget -- and only $14 billion was left. Of that $14 billion, $8 billion could not be touched -- because of contracts with public-worker unions, bond covenants and commitments the state made in accepting federal stimulus money.
We had to find a way to save $2.3 billion in a $6 billion pool of money. The treasurer's office presented me with 378 possible freezes and lapses to balance the budget; I accepted 375 of them.
There's a great deal of discussion about me doing that by executive action. Every day that went by was a day where money was going out the door such that the $6 billion pool was getting less and less. Something needed to be done -- and the people didn't send me here to talk; they sent me here to do.
As we look ahead three weeks to my fiscal year 2011 budget address, you all need to understand the context from which we operate.
Our citizens are already the most overtaxed in America. You mayors know that the public appetite for ever-increasing taxes has reached an end.
So we're going to reduce spending at the state level -- because we have no choice.
We also have an obligation to work with the Legislature to give mayors the tools to reduce spending at the municipal level. The pension and benefit reform package just passed in the Senate is only a beginning. We need to change the rules of arbitration to level the playing field. The ever-increasing raises being given to public-sector workers as a result of the arbitration system tells us that.
By the same token, I'm tired of hearing superintendents and school-board members complain that there are no other options than raising property taxes. There are other options.
After a two-year negotiation, Marlboro gave teachers a five-year contract with 4.5 percent annual salary increases -- with zero contribution to health-care benefits. Yet I'm sure there are people in Marlboro who've lost their jobs, who've had their homes foreclosed on, who can't keep a roof over their family's head.
There's something wrong.
At some point, there has to be parity between what's happening in the real world, and what's happening in the public-sector world. The money doesn't grow on trees outside government buildings. It comes from the hardworking people of our communities who are hurting right now.
In this instance, the political class (of which all of us here are members) is lagging behind the public. The public is ready to hear that tough choices have to be made.
They're not going to like it. But they're tired of hearing, "Don't worry. I can spare you from the pain." They've been hearing that for a decade, as we have borrowed and spent and taxed our way into oblivion.
State government has done every quick fix in the book. Now we're left holding the bag.
All of you know in your heart that what I am saying is true. You know that we can't afford these raises that are being given to public employees of all stripes. You know the state can't continue to spend money it doesn't have. And you know that the appetite for tax increases among our constituents has come to an end.
So the path to reform and success is clear. We just have to have the courage to go there.
What we're doing is showing people that government can work again for them, not for us. It has worked for the political class for much too long.
There's no time left. We have no room left to borrow. We have no room left to tax.

The Republican Second Coming

Good column! The reason the Republicans eventually lost power after their takeover of Congress in 1994 is because they stopped teaching and acting on the Conservative agenda that got them there. If there is one thing the Federal Government should mandate, and I hate government mandates, it is that Public schools should be required to teach American history, the Founding of the country, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and basic Civics, and make it a requirement for graduation, and they should be taught as they actually happened, and why they were established, not the politically correct version that is taught in schools today, if it is taught at all.

     When Republicans regain a majority in the House and Senate — either this fall, as seems increasingly likely, or in the election following — they must learn from their previous mistakes when they last held power. In addition to focusing on overturning whatever health insurance “reform” proposal this Congress eventually passes (by a veto override, or a lawsuit challenging the measure’s constitutionality), a Republican congressional majority must help large numbers of the public unlearn the factual errors they have been taught to accept.
      From “climate change”, to the notion that government is a guarantor through “entitlement” programs of a minimal outcome in life, to the forgotten idea given to us by the Founders that Liberty is the most precious gift there is, the country needs a history lesson based on truth, experience and provable facts.
     One of the things I admire about Glenn Beck’s program on Fox is his chalkboard. Agree with him, or not, Beck’s appeal is largely due to his teaching role. Everyone has had the experience of sitting in a classroom while a teacher writes things on the board, things considered important enough to learn. So much of what passes for facts today are like what another generation called “old wives’ tales.” They were assumed by many to be true, though few sought information that would have disproved them. Worse, few asked questions that would have unraveled the falsehoods.
      Republicans need to do at least two other things. They should present at hearings and through TV and radio commercials individuals who will confront the political equivalent of old wives’ tales. Huge numbers of us believe government is essential to a better life. Instinctively and from stories handed down from grandparents who endured wars and economic downturns, we know that the strength of America is not in its government, but in its people. That’s why the Preamble to the Constitution begins, “We the people.” Power comes from the bottom up, not the top down as in totalitarian societies. The formerly poor should be encouraged to tell their stories about overcoming. America loves stories. More of ours should be told to inspire others.
      During TV coverage of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, viewers were treated to a replay of the 1980 American hockey team victory over the Soviet Union. Anyone who saw it realized this was more than a sports triumph. It was the last year of Jimmy Carter’s presidency and the nation was in a funk. In a retrospective interview with ABC sportscaster Al Michaels, teammates told the story of how coach Herb Brooks inspired them to reach beyond their talents to their dreams. They did and the scene of that “do you believe in miracles?” moment continues to resonate 30 years later. That hockey team and its dreams are the story of America, a country that has always let its reach exceed its grasp and been the better for it.
Where is the political equivalent of Herb Brooks? Who will inspire a nation to again believe in itself and the power of the individual? A Republican majority should turn the nation’s attention away from Washington. A Republican majority must teach us again that “you can do it,” like so many of our fathers did when the training wheels came off and we learned we could fly down the sidewalk without assistance.
America doesn’t need restructuring. It needs revival; revival of the principles that made us strong and great; revival of the moral foundation that proved to be our real strength and allowed us to conquer our demons and become independent, not dependent on government.
      This is the message most Americans want to hear and need to hear. Will the Republicans deliver it? Is there a leader who can articulate our hopes and in the process withstand the Left’s onslaught that such people are “uncaring”? In fact, liberty is the highest form of caring. It is why we marvel at a bald eagle in flight. It is why we once yearned to breathe free and might yet again.
